Norvasc 10mg
Norvasc 10 mg (Amlodipine) is a calcium channel blocker used to help the blood vessels to widen in cases of angina, coronary artery disease or high blood pressure (hypertension). As a result, it is smoother for the blood to flow through the body. This also reduces the work of the heart and the arteries for the circulation to do what it needs to for the body.
What is Norvasc 10mg Used for?
There are several health concerns that Norvasc 10 mg may be prescribed for. They include angina and coronary artery disease. Reducing high blood pressure in conjunction with daily exercise and eating well is the main use of it. While it is rarely prescribed for children, this medicine can be given to those at least 6 years old.
Dosage & Administration of Norvasc
The time frame for using Norvasc 10 mg will vary based on the needs of the patient. In some instances, this daily pill will need to be taken for the rest of their life. When it is used for high blood pressure, the patient may make enough progress that they no longer need it. Don’t stop taking this medicine without the approval of your doctor.
Take it even when you are feeling better. Taking it with food can reduce the risk of nausea occurring. Initially, you may be given the 5 mg dose to see how your body responds to it. Then you can be increased to 10 mg if the benefits are high and the side effects are minimal. Before you are taken off this medicine, you may be reduced to the 5 mg for a period of time.
