What is Atorlip-5?
Atorlip-5 should be used along with a proper diet and exercise regimen to raise “good” cholesterol (HDL) while lowering “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in the blood. The active ingredient atorvastatin calcium can also help decrease the amount of cholesterol that may have built up on the walls of the arteries. It is considered a HMG CoA reductase inhibitor or statins type of medication. Lowering cholesterol levels in the body can help decrease the risk of heart complications, heart attacks and strokes.
How is Atorlip-5 used?
Atorlip-5 should be taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The tablets should be taken with a glass of water but can be taken with or without food. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient's response to the therapy. It is recommended to avoid consuming grapefruits and grapefruit juices while taking the medication as it may interfere with the amount of the drug that gets absorbed in the bloodstream.
