Baytril (Enrofloxacin) - 150mg (10 Tablets)

What is Baytril?
Baytril containing the active ingredient enrofloxacin is a broad spectrum antimicrobial substance belonging to the fluoroquinolone group of antibiotics. The medication works by blocking the bacteria's ability to make DNA, resulting in the death of the bacteria. The flavored tablets can be used to treat bacterial infections such as skin infections, otitis externa, alimentary, respiratory and urogenital tracts infections and secondary wound infections.

How is Baytril used?
The Baytril 150mg tablets should be given to large dogs once per day or as divided doses twice per day unless otherwise directed by a veterinarian. The tablets can be given alone or wrapped up in meat or sausage to be fed to the pet. The tablets should not be taken with any dairy products but should be taken with plenty of water. Contact a veterinarian for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the pet's weight, condition and their response to the treatment.

Adverse effects
Pets using Baytril may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

• Anorexia
• Diarrhea
• Vomiting
• Elevated liver enzymes
• Ataxia
• Depression
• Lethargy
• Seizures

Contact a veterinarian immediately should side effects persist or worsen.

Warnings
Do not give to pregnant pets and pets below 1 year of age as the medication has detrimental effects on growing joints and bones.

Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Baytril is not always suitable for all patients.
