What is Desowen Cream?
Desowen Cream works by activating certain natural substances in the body to reduce swelling, redness, irritation and itching of the skin. The active ingredient desonide belongs to a class of medications called topical corticosteroids. The medication is mainly used to treat skin conditions such as dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis and allergic reactions. The cream can be used to treat the skin conditions but cannot be used as a cure for the conditions.
How is Desowen Cream used?
Desowen Cream should only be applied topically as directed by a doctor, usually 2 to 3 times per day. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient's response to the therapy. Thoroughly clean and dry the hands and affected area before applying any cream. Rub a thin layer of the medication onto the affected area and gently massage it in until it disappears. Wash your hands immediately after using the medication unless the hands are part of the treated area. It is not recommended to wear tight fitting clothing or wrap the treated area in dressing unless instructed by a doctor.
