Fenofibrate 200mg
Fenofibrate and Hypercholesterolaemia
Hypercholesterolaemia (high cholesterol) can create problems for the heart, brain, and the rest of the body. This is because the health problem narrows the blood flow through the arteries. This means not enough oxygen is getting where it needs to. Fenofibrate (Lipicard) can be used with a low fat diet to reduce those risks associated with high cholesterol.
The use of this medication won’t be very beneficial if you aren’t eating right. Then there will be too much fat intake by your body for it to do much good. When you eat right though this medication can help to reduce the build up of fat in the arteries and then more blood will be able to flow through them again. That is why Fenofibrate is referred to as an antilipemic agent.
How To Take Fenofibrate
Fenofibrate will only work like it should when it is taken every single day though. Never skip doses and never change what you take of it. Your doctor knows best so don’t decrease or increase the dose without their consent. If you experience nausea, take this medication with food. Otherwise, it is fine to take it on an empty stomach.
Fenofibrate Dosage
The starting dose of Fenofibrate will be small but then it can be gradually increased if necessary. Your doctor should have you come in every couple of weeks for testing. The goal is to see the levels of fat reducing. If you use this medication daily for 8 weeks without any results, then it is time to discontinue it and try something else.
Fenofibrate Precautions
Make sure you fully disclose any health concerns to your doctor. If you have issues with the gall bladder, kidneys, liver, or you have diabetes then you shouldn’t use Fenofibrate. Some of the side effects initially may include a headache, heartburn, and constipation. If diarrhea occurs make sure you take steps to stay hydrated.
