Norpress 25mg
Norpress (Nortriptyline) is a medication used to treat depression. Norpess is classified as a tricyclic antidepressant. Most patients have a very good response to it. You may hear it also called Nortiptyline. This is a type of tricyclic antidepressant. This medication helps to increase chemicals in the brain that are lacking. With them in place, there can be a balance of mood for that individual. It can be difficult though to determine the right amount of medication to get that balance to occur.
Working closely with your doctor is very important on that point. They will start you out with a low dose and then monitor your progress. You may feel that your depression is worse for the first few days, but continue to take it. Your dose may require you to take it from one to four times per day. Never skip doses and never take more or less than the doctor prescribed.
You can get Norpress in either a liquid or in a pill. It is important to continue with this medication after you feel improvements in your mood. If you stop taking it you may experience bouts of depression again. This medication can also result in withdrawals such as nausea and shaking if you stop taking it all at once. Norpress can be taken with a meal or on an empty stomach. For the best results, try to take your medication at the same time every day.
When you first start using Norpress, you may experience daily headaches. They should be mild in nature. You may have some pain or tenderness in the abdomen. Sometimes diarrhea or constipation can occur. Insomnia may occur the first few days but then go away. Any changes in heart rate, in breathing, or swelling of the face should be immediately reported to the doctor. This can be a sign of an allergic reaction.
