What is Semaglutide (Rybelsus)
Semaglutide (Rybelsus) is a tratment for type 2 diabetes. It increases insulin levels in your body, which in turn decreases your blood sugar (glucose). It also reduces the amount of sugar released into the blood stream and slows your digestion. Changes to diet and exercise are often combined with Semaglutide (Rybelsus). Semaglutide (Rybelsus) may be used for other purposes including weight loss.
Semaglutide (Rybelsus) Dosage and Administration
Semaglutide (Rybelsus) should be taken by mouth. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day, usually right after waking up. Do not eat or drink anything before taking it. Do not take it with any other drink except a small glass (less than 120mL) of plain water. Swallow the tablets whole - do not cut, crush or chew the tablets. After taking it, do not eat breakfast, drink, or take any other medications or vitamins for at least 30 minutes. Semaglutide (Rybelsus) should be taken until your care provider tells you to stop. Follow all dosage instructions as provided by your doctor or pharmacist.
Semaglutide (Rybelsus) Side Effects
Possible side effects of Semaglutide (Rybelsus) may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, diarrhea, or constipation. These side effects will generally lessen as you continue to take Semaglutide (Rybelsus). If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possble. More serious side effects including signs of kidney problems (such as change in the amount of urine), vision changes (such as decreased/blurred vision), signs of pancreatitis or gallbladder disease (such as nausea/vomiting that doesn't stop, severe stomach/abdominal pain) should be reported to your doctor immediately.

Before taking Semaglutide (Rybelsus), tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to any medicines and let them know your medical history. You may experience blurred vision, dizziness, or drowsiness due to extremely low or high blood sugar. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness or clear vision until you are sure you can perform such activities safely. Limit alcohol while using this medication because it can increase your risk of developing low blood sugar. It may be harder to control your blood sugar when your body is stressed (such as due to fever, infection, injury, or surgery). Consult your doctor because this may require a change in your treatment plan, medications, or blood sugar testing.
